How you can save lakhs by switching to Direct Mutual Funds

Image
Now most of the new investors in the market looking for good return over long run are not afraid to invest in equities, specially through Mutual Fund route. However most of these mutual fund investments are through third party brokerage houses of banks like ICICI, KOTAK, HDFC etc. When investors are investing in mutual funds through these route basically they are investing in “Regular Plans” of the fund houses. Unknowingly retail investors are paying these charges which is making dent in their investments over long run. The difference may be even more for other funds, you can try out with your own funds. Few years back after SEBI’s instruction, all mutual fund houses had to launch “Direct Plans” for each of their funds. These direct ...

Image
Consolidation of Public Sector Banks – Will it serve any purpose? Yes, definitely. The suggestion of consolidation among PSBs has quite old history. Narasimham Committee Report in 1991 (NC-I), recommended a three tier banking structure in India through establishment of three large banks with international presence, eight to ten national banks and a large number of regional and local banks. Narasimham Committee Report in 1998 (NC-II) also reiterated the recommendations on NC-I.   Few strong arguments for Consolidation can be given below: 1. Indian banking sector is highly fragmented . PSBs mostly competing with each other as they have same business model, products and segments.
